Mosquito Creek Project
On Saturday, May 25, the Mosquito Creek Project group of the RSCA teamed up with the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority to plant 180+ trees in the greenspace just behind Urbandale Plaza. It was a great morning with nearly 30 volunteers from the community coming to lend a hand for this important project. We had an enthusiastic contingent from the 194th Nepean Pathfinders group on hand, as well as many families and members of the RSCA. Special thanks go out to the RVCA for supplying a wide variety of trees and shrubs that will provide excellent habitat for birds and other wildlife, and will help to prevent runoff into the creek. Stay tuned for future events this summer, like our annual Mosquito Creek walk and, hopefully, a fall planting event!
