On February 20th, Councillor Steve Desroches was happy to join Manotick Lions President Kris Schulz and Moncions Independent Grocer owner, Marcel Moncion to present the Rideauview Community Centre with a new TV and DVD for their Friday Night Youth Program.

The youth at the centre are very excited and are planning a movie night for early March. Please contact the Rideauview Community Centre for details.

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding the Canyon Walk Drive and Goldeneye Way intersection. I am pleased to report that the City will be installing all-way “STOP” controls later this Spring.

As you may know, there will be more traffic at this intersection once the additional development is completed in the area east and south of the intersection.

Do you have an opinion on whether dogs should be allowed in our local parks?

The City of Ottawa is in the process of reviewing the Ward 22 park designations to determine which of our parks will be designated as i) Dogs Allowed, ii) Dogs Allowed On-Leash, or iii) No Dogs Allowed.

The City has applied its Dogs-in-Parks Designation Policy (DIPDP) and made preliminary designations based on its designation criteria.
