Tuesday, 09 March 2010

City of OttawaCouncillor Steve Descroches is pleased to report that the new feedermain project for South Ottawa went to tender last week, with construction expected to commence immediately following project award.  This large diameter watermain will link the Ottawa South Pump Station (just south of the Airport) with Riverside South and Barrhaven.

Once this watermain is commissioned, both Riverside South and Barrhaven will have a secondary source of water, providing a backup system should the Woodroffe Avenue watermain be put out of service for any reason. This project will also support the current and future growth in our community.  The duration of this construction project will be a year and a half.
