Schedule being ‘refreshed’ for Strandherd-Armstrong bridge
Wednesday, 13 February 2013

Schedule being ‘refreshed’ for Strandherd-Armstrong bridgeTimelines for the Strandherd-Armstrong bridge project are being assessed after ongoing monitoring determined that additional welding work is needed, says a key city official on the file.

Work on the $48-million bridge over the Rideau River has continued over the winter, but some of the welding on its arches didn’t meet city specifications, said Gloucester-South Nepean Councillor Steve Desroches.

“There may be some work that’s needed to make sure that the weld meets those specifications, which I am told is not unusual and has nothing to do with the fact that we’re welding in the winter,’ Desroches said on Wednesday.
