2013 Riverside South Spring Cleanup Thank You
Wednesday, 01 May 2013

2013 Riverside South Spring Cleanup Thank YouSaturday, April 27th marked the annual Spring Cleanup in Riverside South. Many thanks go out to the 50 residents who showed up to help pick up a winter's worth of garbage along our main roadways, parks and ravines. Volunteers collected over 50 bags of garbage from various sites in the community - thanks for your dedication to keeping Riverside South and the City of Ottawa clean!

Thanks again to Urbandale and Collautti for their support in providing the large dumpster and for picking up the items around the community that could not be brought back to the dumpster.

The City of Ottawa would like to extend a heartfelt 'thank-you' for your participation in making the 2013 Spring Cleaning the Capital Campaign a huge success!

Schedule being ‘refreshed’ for Strandherd-Armstrong bridge
Wednesday, 13 February 2013

Schedule being ‘refreshed’ for Strandherd-Armstrong bridgeTimelines for the Strandherd-Armstrong bridge project are being assessed after ongoing monitoring determined that additional welding work is needed, says a key city official on the file.

Work on the $48-million bridge over the Rideau River has continued over the winter, but some of the welding on its arches didn’t meet city specifications, said Gloucester-South Nepean Councillor Steve Desroches.

“There may be some work that’s needed to make sure that the weld meets those specifications, which I am told is not unusual and has nothing to do with the fact that we’re welding in the winter,’ Desroches said on Wednesday.
