Leitrim Park and Ride Ground Breaking

 This past week saw the groundbreaking of the new Leitrim Park and Ride Facility. Construction began in late April on the new Park and Ride between Leitrim and Quinn Rd., which will serve residents who use route 99 at Leitrim Station.
Adjacent to the rapid transit corridor, which is designed to connect Riverside South with the southeast transitway at South Keys Station, the Park and Ride broke ground on June 29 and is in the process of building phase 1 of the plan. Phase 1 includes 295 spots in total (286 vehicle, 6 disabled and 3 bus stalls) and is scheduled to be completed later this fall. The City is building the access on Gilligan Road and a new signalized intersection, including turn lanes, at Lietrim Road, as well as a cul de sac and pathway on the end of Quinn. Stage 1 has 5 phases and will have just over 1200 spaces when it is completed.
