Hi there,

We are on Coral Berry/Eyebirght and last night had someone banging on our door and ringing our doorbell at about 4 am - this happen to anyone else??

I am thinking it is just kids but one never knows. I saw a few other lights on down the street so am assuming whoever banged on our door hit other houses as well.

We reported it to the police - if this happened to anyone else please take the time to report it so that we can get an increased police presence out in our area.

Thanks.

I live in the same area and sometime last night the two chairs on my front steps were stolen.  We walked around the area this morning and didn't find them.  Around 8:00AM a construction worker knocked on the door and asked if we were missing some chairs, he said that a bunch of kids were partying in a partly finished townhouse and he found them there.

Hi there,

We're at corner of North Bluff and Canyon Walk and same thing happened to us Sunday night around 10pm. Really peeved me off as woke and scared our young children. I will be on the lookout. Think it's time to initiate "Neighbourhood Watch" in this part of RS.

Looks like a job for the RS vigilante group !!  The 'Villas' swat team will round 'em up.Forget the police , the RS Vigilante group is all we need. In fact , they now have a 'Villas' SEAL team for those real dirty jobs we can't talk about. Seriously though , where are the parents whose kids are out partying in unfinished houses and roaming the neighborhood at 4 am. Here's an idea , ring my doorbell and wait till I answer and watch what happens--I can run fast , and when I catch you I will take you home and ring your parents bell--and wait for them to answer!  Just my thoughts, I bet it would work.

I posted a very similar post about 1 year ago. The same thing happened to us at midnight. Obviously this game has not gotten old for the teens around here...great!

Here was my post from Aug 2009

Doorbell Games?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did anyone else's door bell ring last night at 11:30pm? Ours did and when we went to the door, no one was to be found. Just trying to figure out if this is another one of those juvenile pranks being done in the neighbourhood. Not cool.

FYI - There are 2 criminal code charges that can be laid with regards to this offence. The first being "trespass by night" and the other "mischief". So, if you do catch them, please call the police so they can pay for this. Playing "nikki nikki nine door" at midnight is not acceptable.

I have zero tolerance for things like this this.  I actually chased a couple of kids through the neighbourhood one evenign a few months back.   They rang my doorbell several times in rapid succession, startling my one year old causing her to trip and bonk her head.  This torqued me pretty bad so I ran out after them. They split up and ran different ways, but I ended up catching one of them (after chasing him through the ravine beside River Road), and then found the other one later when i as was driving down Spratt.  I'm pretty sure I scared the living crap out of them.  These kids were 15... way too old to be pulling crap like that.
Of course my wife and most others tell me I over-reacted, and I probably did, but I think somebody has to at least react.  Too many people just grumble and complain... the kids do it because they know most people will be too lazy or too out of shape to chase after them.

Good on you Phil... but unless you grab them by the scruff of the neck, and march them home to where they live to face their parents, I'm sure they just laughed  at you once you let them go! Wink
